The Catacombs of Paris are an underground ossuary holding the remains of around six million people, 20 metres beneath the city streets. Watch the video, then book your timed entry ticket with audio guide to explore it yourself.

What Your Catacombs Ticket Offers
Your ticket includes access to the Catacombs and a multilingual audio guide that tells the story of the ossuary and 18th-century Paris as you walk the 1.5 km route.
Age & Accessibility
The Catacombs are open to visitors of all ages, but note the 131 steps down and 112 up. Entry policy for young children may vary — check the ticket options at checkout. The site is not accessible to wheelchair or walker users — there are 131 steps down and 112 steps back up.
Quietest Time to Visit
Book a timed slot and arrive on a weekday morning for the calmest experience. Slots sell out at peak times, so plan ahead.
What to Bring
Only small bags up to 40x30x20 cm are permitted, carried in front or by hand. Suitcases, large bags and motorcycle helmets are not allowed. Strollers are not permitted — bring a baby carrier.
On the Route
The visit lasts about an hour along a 1.5 km circuit, 20 metres underground. Eating and drinking are not allowed, and please do not touch the bones — they are fragile remains.

Most visitors spend around one hour exploring the Catacombs along the 1.5 km underground circuit. That is enough time to follow the audio guide, take in the bone-lined galleries and the famous “hagues”, and learn the history of the ossuary.
Entry is by timed slot and the site is open Tuesday to Sunday from 09:45 to 20:30 (last entry 19:30; closed Mondays), so you can plan your visit around the rest of your day in Paris.
